GETTING TO KNOW ME
1.WHY DO I CRAFT/WRITE?
I was always into arts and crafts. During my growing up years sewing and knitting was part of our daily routine. When my mother saw the artistic side in me. I was introduced to an arts teacher . Till date I thank him for whatever I learned from him. Even during difficult exam times also all other activities were stopped but painting continued. I mostly used to do Oil paintings. But after marriage I took a break and I now I am back to my passion - Arts and Craft. Some of my earlier works oil paintings and teddy painting done on the wall for my daughter's room
2.WHY DO I CRAFT/BLOG?
I craft because I love being creative. I am addicted to Quilling.
From past one year I have started with other crafting styles.
I believe as an artist I should not restrict myself.
I am not much into blogging but its really great to be part of "Blog-land"
I blog mainly to be part of various challenges and get inspired by national & international bloggers. So much to learn from everywhere.
I have just finished a quilled place-mat and in the process of making another. Then few cards, a quilled wrist watch, a quilled pendant & earring set and a wedding journal. So lots of varied work is going on simultaneously.
4.HOW DO I BECOME INSPIRED OR BE INSPIRED?
I get inspired by many things like fellow crafters, I would say my fellow crafters are biggest inspiration whether they are from India or from a Foreign country. Each have a different style. Yet creating my own style.
Everyday we are learning newer techniques. Through Facebook/Google/Pinterest/Youtube I must have come across so many techniques and products. Nature being another big source of inspiration especially flowers (helps me lots when I am quilling)
I feel so proud when someone comes and tell me you have inspired my child to do quilling.
SO BE INSPIRED AND STAY INSPIRED.
5.HOW DOES YOUR CREATING PROCESS WORK?
The moment I get an order to make a product my thought process begins.
Starting from conceptualizing to the final product I keep on working on it till I am not satisfied. So sometime the final product maybe different from the initial conception. I feel as we create we can add lot of things to make the product look the best.
6.HOW LONG DOES IT TAKES YOU TO CREATE SOMETHING?
It depends on what kind of product I am making and availability of time and most importantly deadline pressure. Believe me Deadline Pressures brings the best out of you. I know you will definitely agree to that.
7.HOW DOES MY WORK DIFFER FROM OTHERS?
I try to be different from others.I like to mix various mediums to make something different.
Though I might be inspired by many but I still try to be different.
8. WHAT ARE THE FAVORITE THINGS I LOVE TO CREATE?
I love to do Quilling in wrist watches, making photo frames, place-mats. Iove working on personalized explosion boxes.Of late I am loving to do all distressing and stamping techniques.Though a long way to go and master the technique.
A creative person never cages a particular style. I
like to experiment and usually challenge myself . Being little different from
others is my signature style. I want to be very versatile.
