Holi : Festival of colors

Hello,

Today I have made a Scene Card for an Indian festival of colors : Holi .

Scene Cards are basically Layered cards which give a 3D perceptive.
In this we try and create a scene. Scene be of any occasion eg Wedding , birthday etc
Today I have done for the festival of colors HOLI

Like in this card I have placed the color powder plates in one row.
Then sweets and color water filled balloons in one row.
Then the color water filled bucket with pichkaris
A boy and a girls playing on either corners.

I have first stamped the images on a white cardstock using masking technique
Then colored them with Zig watercolor brushes
Then put shimmer pates to give a glittery look to everything.
Now fussy cut from the top side only.
Now take 8 by 6 inches cardstock 2 numbers : one for the base and one for the frame.
Take another 2 pieces of cardstock 6 by 2.5 inches . Score at every half inches and fold like a fan.
This we will adhere on the sides of the base cardstock.
Then adhere the layers one by one with red tacky tape or any other adhesive
Stamp the water splash stamp on the frame cardstock with distress ink and add Candy shimmer paste.
Now randomly color the boy and the girl with different distrss inks.
Place them on the corners.
Stick the pichkaris on them with foam tape.
Add the color powder plates and sweets plate in one corner.
For the sentiment I have used different color embossing powders to go well with the festival.

PLEASE CHECK OUT THE VIDEO FOR THE TUTORIAL OF THIS CARD

Few more photos

Doesn't it seem that the girl is throwing water splashes on the boy and
the things are kept at different levels ?

Supplies Used
White cardstock
Distress Inks
Black archival Ink
Versamark
Wow embossing powders
Craftyscrappers CELEBRATE HOLI stamp set

Mixed Media Heart Panel

Hello Friends,
I have made a mixed media panel keeping in mind the theme of love

A brief description of how I made it.

I took a 3 by 6 inches chipboard panel.
I primed it with black gesso. The gesso consistency is very smooth and easy to spread.
Then added a small piece of lace and again put gesso on it.
Later added few flat round beads , 2 hearts, a wooden bangle and a resin frame,
Stuck everything on the panel. Then added some jute cord in and around the the bangle.
Did black gesso on everything. Heat dried.
Then added different shimmer pastes one by one to highlight the embellishments
I used Ornament, Jingle bell and Glamorous Chick shimmer pastes
Added Flirty Expresso sequins randomly.
Lastly added the white gesso using the dry brush technique to highlight and the mixed media Love panel is ready.

 Supplies used

Craftyscrappers
Black Gesso

Green Shaker Mixed media Hearts

This Valentine Go Green instead of RED / PINK

Hello friends,

I have made a Green Shaker Mixed media Hearts for this Valentines Day.

This Valentine Go Green instead of red and pink.

I took 2 MDF hearts 1 plain and One with love font .

First painted both with Craftyscrappers Black Gesso

Which was very smooth and spread easily on the mdf

Then added some paper tissue and metal charms to give little texture to the heart

added little Moss Sparkle on it. Also added some silver sparkle paste.. All from Craftyscrappers.

Then added some green and yellow sprays on to the heart

Now with the love heart. I stuck the clear sheet to the back of the heart and added sequins in the love font to give a shaker look, Then stuck again the clear sheet on the front.. and now on top of the clear sheet with the help of the stencil and sea glass dazzle paste I did the designing . Heat embossed the whole thing

Added some stones and sequins on the joint of the hearts and then added the Boy Frog and Girl Frog stamp.. Also added few flowers and flourishes from my stash.

Added the sentiment from the stamp set . To the stamps I added Moss shimmer paste on the edges just like we do the distressing with Distress Inks. This gave a little Greeny effect on the sides of the stamped images..

Added the Silver shimmer paste as the outline to the love font on the heart to highlight it.

Thank you.

Back to Childhood

Hello all,

Hope everyone is enjoying the vacation and having fun,
Childhood is one of the best times of our lives.
Always full of fun and no burden of responsibilities.
Living a carefree life.

One of the most beautiful phase of life is school life.
I have chosen school times as my theme for back to childhood.
Today I have made QUILLED TOPS FOR PENCILS
Children just love fancy pencils showing off to their friends and classmates.
Even when I was in the school having a different kind of pencil with fancy toppers was always fun.
So I have made these reliving my childhood days.

Hope you all like this little post and surely revisited your childhood memories.

Live Life Like a Butterfly

Hello all,

Feeling so great as a DT for the Quilling Blog.
This times Challenge really made me think as to what I should make.

Here we had to recycle/up-cycle any product and use Quilling as embellishment .
I did not want to do the usual Recycle/upcycle
So I came up with something very different.
This was in my list of try outs for a long time.
Finally got the right project to give it a try.
Look out for more fabulous inspiration from other DTs also at IQCG CH #24

I have up-cycled an Embroidery Hoop
Firstly I put Gesso on the Hoop and then Distressed it with
Mustard Seed and Festive Berries,
Then stuck Burlap.
Used Festive Berries DI to stencil Butterfly on to the burlap.
Used Green Quilling Strips to form a  Lined Mesh so that photos can be hung using pegs.
Added adhesive flat pearl  all around the hoop.
Using Malaysian Technique made Blue and Pink Combo Flowers .
Arranged it with leaves and scrolls on two sides of the hoop.
Added 2 Mdf Lanterns with Festive Berries DI
Took two wooden pegs and added butterflies to it.
Now Photos can be added. 2-3 photos can be hung here.
This hoop can be used as Wall hanging or as a table top Decor.
I have placed it near my Dressing Table with my daughter's pic.
Will be adding two more pics of her with me and my hubby.
I really loved the Quote LIVE LIFE LIKE A BUTTERFLY,
so I printed and stuck it with double sided tape.
This Quote gives me a kind of positive inspiration to
Enjoy and make the most of your life.
