Altered Diary

Hello Friends

I have altered a diary here with mixed media.
From the longest point I wanted to alter my dairy. I write all my crafty tips and tricks which I come across whether by myself or from anywhere else, So what better way than mixed media.

I did black gesso on top of the dairy cover to hide all the design,
Dis stencil with mixed media paste .
Then arranged all the elements like negative of a chipboard, clock, butterfly, mdf coaster, cheese cloth, cage.
Took 3 pencils and added a cord accord then and placed in the middle of the coaster.
Added a butterfly chipboard.
Did Black gesso all over.
Added mixed media stones.
Sprayed yellow, pink and green randomly.
Lastly added white gesso using a dry brush technique.

Supplies Used

Album Box

Hello friends

Here is a box I made for an album.
These boxes keep the album safe.
 I have here taken a MDF box... with dimensions 12 "* 10* 5.5"
First I painted the whole box with white gesso and then with chalk paint.
I have put a coordinating paper according to the album.
I used script stencil with mixed media paste on top of the box .
Then used rose stencil and dabbed randomly with distress ink all over the box.
With black archival ink I stamped randomly.

That's all from my side today hope you all like my box.
Do leave your views. Would love to know.
Happy Crafting.

Mixed Media Layout : Dream Imagine

Hello all,

I am not a big mixed media artist but slowly and steadily I am trying my hands on this craft style.
Whenever I get an opportunity to do mixed media I try to give my best.

Today I have made a mixed media layout with two strong sentiments DREAM and IMAGINE.
Together they make it happen what you want to do in reality.

If you can imagine it, you can achieve it. If you can dream it, you can become it.--William Arthur Ward

I have first used font stencil on the base paper and also added a criss cross design with fiber paste
Painted the clock with cinnamon metallic color.  I then distressed the edges of  all the papers ..On another burlap paper I heat embossed the clock design with embossing texture paste, Then added criss cross stencil design on the brick paper. Heat embossed the sentiments with embossing texture paste . Finally tucked cheese cloth, several layers of pieces of pattern paper and added few flowers.

Supplies used
Texture brew PP
Mixed media Paste
Embossing Texture Paste
Fiber Paste
Cinnamon Metallic Color
Cheese cloth
Mdfs : Clock, Dream Imagine, Wall
Flowers

Hope you all like my small project.
Happy Crafting

Mixed Media Reverse Canvas frame

Hello friends,
I present to you a mixed media reverse canvas frame .
This was my first try for out an out mixed media canvas.
Was really apprehensive at first but was quite happy with the outcome.
Will make more often as I quite liked the whole process.

I tied a cord on the bigger canvas and then attached the reversed smaller canvas .
Applied gesso and then arranged the metals , chippies , laces, corrugated torn sheets, mdf sentiments.
With stencils, cheese cloth I added texture to the frame.
After everything was stuck I sprayed different colors on the white background . (forgot to click the pic) now after heat drying the whole canvas i painted everything with black gesso and then highlighted everything with inka gold.

I hope you also like the canvas as much as I loved making it.
happy Crafting.

Decoupage stand for the Itsy Bitsy Spotlight

Hello friends,
I am here with an awesome news that I have been selected as 'Crafter in the Spotlight' by the premium craft store Itsy Bitsy India.. So here is the project I made for the same with a pictorial tutorial.

You all can check my interview here Itsy Bitsy Blog

Here is the step by step tutorial for the multipurpose stand. Anything can be kept in it like stationary items, cutlery or even remotes.
Step 1
I took a mdf stand with three partitions and the Vintage Rose Tissue napkin.  I divided the stand in three parts with pencil.
**I must say the tissue napkins are so well individually packed that they don’t get any creases.**

Step 2
I masked the stand and applied Little Birdie Muted Teal chalk paint on the unmasked area.

Step 3

Now after drying I applied Little Birdie One step Crackle medium. I heat dried it and applied Little Birdie Snow chalk paint  to show the cracks

Step 4
Now I took the tissue napkin and cut them in several pieces according to the design I want to place.  Always remove the white backing paper from the tissue, be careful.

Step 5
Now I arranged the tissue pieces all around the stand and adhere with Little Birdie Decoupage glue matt

I adhered several more pieces to give a better design as I felt that the stand was looking incomplete

Step 6

With the help of a stencil and Little Birdie 2 in 1 mixed media paste I gave the stand a little embossed effect. I gave the design randomly on all sides of the stand. After applying the paste on the stencil I removed the stencil and heat set it with Little Birdie Heat tool.

**Itsy Bitsy is making Crafters life so easy by placing the QR code on each product. I got a bit confused so I quickly scanned the QR code and the YouTube link was there to sort out all my confusion.  **

Step 7
I stamped little flourishes here and there to make the design look complete.

Step 8
I stamped little flourishes here and there to make the design look complete.

Step 9
I then applied VersaCraft Pale Aqua on the edges and the top.

Step 10
I applied Little Birdie Varnish Gloss all over and dried it.
I gave 2 coats of it to cover all areas.

Supplies Used

Final pictures of the completed multipurpose stand

I hope you all like it.
Please do let me know how you liked it.
