Hope you all are enjoying the season of love.
I am here today to give a tutorial on the CASCADE CARD I have made.
Hope you will like it and try it out. ( the tutorial is bit lengthy but you will definitely enjoy making it )
Don't use your best paper for the first try. (I had used a normal 2 A4 size papers ,the one we use for printing, for the trial) This is done just to get the knack of interlocking the card …. I can almost guarantee you will be amazed as to how pretty the card looks once it is made. So here goes….
Start with one 12 X 12 piece of card-stock
Cut 2 pieces that are 12 X 5.5"
At one end make a mark at 3" and then cut from that mark to the corner. It should look like this: Cut both pieces exactly the same.
Next (on both pieces) make a light pencil mark across the 12" length. The line will be erased later. Begin on the 3" edge. The line will begin 1.25" from the bottom and end at a mark that is 2.75" from the bottom at the other end. See below:
Next (on both pieces) make two score lines, one at 4" and the other at 8". As shown below: The drawings are not to scale so please measure carefully before scoring.
On the second piece cut from the top down to the center line at 2" and 10". Next cut from the bottom up the center line at 6". See below:
If you've made it this far, it's all down hill from here.
Fold on the score lines.
Now stick your 2 different PATTERN PAPERS on both sides( front and back with the same paper), WHITE PUNCHED OUT PAPER LACE and WASHI TAPE on both sides. After sticking the PP, LACE & TAPE score and slit as done with the base..
Next slide the cuts together until the bottom is level. It may feel a little awkward but all the cuts will slide together to make two closed sections.
Now you have your card ready for decoration.
NOW DECORATE IT AS YOU WANT. I have done mine like this…
some of the things I used for decoration
this is how I decorated
tie ribbons and its ready to give/mail to your dear one
It should fold flat for decorating and mailing - have fun and good luck! I had loads of fun making this one.
hope u liked the tutorial....do leave suggestions and love in the comment box.
