Altered Mason Jar

Hello all,
So here I am with  yet another inspirational post.
This time I have altered a mason jar.

Its A JAR FULL OF WISHES AND SURPRISES

I have fallen in love with Prima products. They are just fantastic.
The Girl stamps are so much full of style and attitude itself that when used gives such a beautiful results.
I took a mason jar and decoupaged it with a napkin and Mod Podge. Washi tape to seal the edges of the napkin.
Then stuck a MDF mannequin and the PRIMA stamped Doll and colored with watercolor pencils PRIMA black pearl swirls
Decorated with mulberry flowers & leaves and punched out butterflies

Tied various colored twines to hang a happy birthday tag and Red cupcake on one side of the jar and on the other side I hung metal charms (another one of my favorites these days)
On the 4th side of the jar I stuck a camera die cut with my daughters photo with a musical note and little hearts die cuts . A birthday sentiment just perfect as it was her birthday yesterday.
On the lid I stuck the doily die cut with a LET'S CELEBRATE TODAY die cut. and tied three candles with the twine just perfect for the occasion.
Inside the jar were wishes from the family members rolled and tied up with twines and of course lots of chocolates and a little surprise gift. She loved her gift very much.

Getting to know me blog hop !

Hello friends,
Today's blog post is different as I am writing about me and my journey of being an art and craft lover .
First of all I would like to thank Neha Upreti for tagging me for this DIFFERENT BLOG HOP.
She is a beautiful crafter .Her blog's name is  CREATIVE CRAFTING and her Facebook page is Neha Handmade Cards She does lovely mixed media layouts, Beautiful Cards etc. I really love the way she uses her embellishments on whatever she makes. Thanks Neha for inviting me to be part of this Blog Hop.

A little introduction of me . My name is Meeta Bhalotia. I was born and brought up in Kanpur, UP. After marriage I came to Chennai and now settled in Kochi. Kerala is
a very beautiful place. You should visit at least once. It has lush green places to beautiful backwater to wonderful beaches.
I have a page on Facebook The Quill Mill and my Blog is The Quill Mill Crafts.

GETTING TO KNOW ME

1.WHY DO I CRAFT/WRITE?

I was always into arts and crafts. During my growing up years sewing and knitting was part of our daily routine. When my mother saw the artistic side in me. I was introduced to an arts teacher . Till date I thank him for whatever I learned from him. Even during difficult exam times also all other activities were stopped but painting continued. I mostly used to do Oil paintings. But after marriage I took a break and I now I am back to my passion - Arts and Craft.
Some of my earlier works oil paintings and teddy painting done on the wall for my daughter's room

2.WHY DO I CRAFT/BLOG?
I craft because I love being creative. I am addicted to Quilling.
From past one year I have started with other crafting styles.
I believe as an artist I should not restrict myself.
I am not much into blogging but its really great to be part of "Blog-land"
I blog mainly to be part of various challenges and get inspired by national & international bloggers. So much to learn from everywhere.

3.WHAT AM I WORKING AT ?
I have just finished a quilled place-mat and in the process of making another. Then few cards, a quilled wrist watch, a quilled pendant & earring set and a wedding journal. So lots of varied work is going on simultaneously.

4.HOW DO I BECOME INSPIRED OR BE INSPIRED?
I get inspired by many things like fellow crafters, I would say my fellow crafters are biggest inspiration whether they are from India or from a Foreign country. Each have a different style. Yet creating my own style.
Everyday we are learning newer techniques. Through Facebook/Google/Pinterest/Youtube I must have come across so many techniques and products. Nature being another big source of inspiration especially flowers (helps me lots when I am quilling)
I feel so proud when someone comes and tell me you have inspired my child to do quilling.
SO BE INSPIRED AND STAY INSPIRED.

5.HOW DOES YOUR CREATING PROCESS WORK?
The moment I get an order to make a product my thought process begins.
Starting from conceptualizing to the final product I keep on working on it till I am not satisfied. So sometime the final product maybe different from the initial conception. I feel as we create we can add lot of things to make the product look the best.

6.HOW LONG DOES IT TAKES YOU TO CREATE SOMETHING?
It depends on what kind of product I am making and availability of time and most importantly deadline pressure. Believe me Deadline Pressures brings the best out of you. I know you will definitely agree to that.

7.HOW DOES MY WORK DIFFER FROM OTHERS?
I try to be different from others.I like to mix various mediums to make something different.
Though I might be inspired by many but I still try to be different.

8. WHAT ARE THE FAVORITE THINGS I LOVE TO CREATE?
I love to do Quilling in wrist watches, making photo frames, place-mats. Iove working on personalized explosion boxes.Of late I am loving to do all distressing and stamping techniques.Though a long way to go and master the technique.

9.WHAT IS MY SIGNATURE STYLE?
A creative person never cages a particular style. I like to experiment and usually challenge myself . Being little different from others is my signature style.  I want to be very versatile.

TAKING THE BLOG HOP CHAIN FORWARD

Hope you all have enjoyed a little self interview of me. Now I would like to introduce to  KHUSHBOO GARG , NIKKITA JAIN and TEENU TERRENCE . I am tagging them to take the chain forward. Khushboo and Nikkita are crafters while Teenu is a writer. Though I have not met any of them but still we all are connected with creativity.

KHUSHBOO GARG  Khushboo lives in  Kolkata, India. She says she loves paper. I like the way she uses stamping techniques in making cards. Her facebook page is Kreative Inspirations and her blog is Something Sassy

NIKKITA JAIN Nikkita is a young and dedicated crafter . She is from Kolkata, India. She loves to make fancy cards, tags, albums with lots of embellishments and color. She loves to experiment.  Her facebook page is Blooming Crafts and her blog is THE NEW CRAFTER..

WATCHing F1

Hello all,
Working on Quilled Wrist Watches is sometimes very challenging but at the same time I feel so satisfied when my customers are happy with result.

This one is a special one . Though I have made it earlier also but I feel when recreating the exactly same design then more efforts are put in .
My customer wanted a ditto copy of my earlier design..
Making QUILLED stuff for boys is even harder.
Like all boys he also loves cars..and especially F1 races..
So here I have made a red Ferrari with the little boy with the flag in his hand...
The grey rounds describes the speed of the car.
No 9 on the car is the date he is born .. Alphabet A is for his name ADITYA
I hope you all will like it.
Do leave love and suggestions.
Happy Quilling
